Pop Top Tabs Program

We are collecting the pop top tabs for the family of Jacob Matthael. Jacob has leukemia and must have treatments every month. He is only 5 years old. Please if you have any pop top tabs bring them to the lodge and we will see that his family gets them. They stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. Jacob is from the Lakewood area. Thanks for your support.

History of the Woodstock Moose #1329

The Moose Lodge at Woodstock was founded January 25, 1918 with a total of 54 members. By the year 1928 the membership had grown to over 400, however during the Great Depression years the membership dropped to only 19 members by the year 1942. During the years from 1942 to 1953 the men's membership grew to 800 and then in 1961 is rose to over 1600 and 1700 by 1967 and now having a membership of nearly 1000.

The early days of the Woodstock Moose Lodge were located on the Woodstock square in various buildings called Viking Hall, Zoia Building, Waverly House, Joslyn Building, Hay Building, Kuby and Stafford Building. In August of 1947 the land was purchased for the present building at Clay and Hutchinson Streets with ground being broken in 1950. They had to tear down an existing building to begin construction on An addition to the building was added in 1957 and again a building was demolished to make room this time a laundry. This addition made the Lodge approximately 20,000 square feet on two levels.

The Women of the Moose Chapter was established on January 14, 1921 with 25 women and now have a membership of over 800 and work hard in supporting the Lodge and fraternity in every aspect of community and fraternalism.

The 100th Year Anniversary Committee along with the Historian Committee and Board of Officers are planning several events for the near future to coincide with our anniversary. Dignitaries of the Moose and the city have been sent invitations to help honor the great event in the history of the Moose.
